This wall is dope for so many reasons. It's so colorful. It's so vast. It's so brilliant. Pay attention to the different styles that come together so collaboratively in this piece. If you take a good look at it from across the street, you can identify the different styles, thus the different artists that participated. Hands and birds were painted by Yoshi. The roll down gate next to it was done by Bounce. Finally, the âOakland Dreamsâ lettering was done by Nisha Sethi.

XOrganized and implemented by Attitudinal Healing Connection, Inc. The fire started in a former warehouse that had been unlawfully converted into an artist collective with living spaces in Oakland, California which was hosting a concert with 80-100 attendees. An ode to them.
XCOMMUNITY REJUVINATION PROJECT

A powerful testament to the interconnected histories of resilience, dynamism, and resistance of communities of color against systemic racism and oppression. Images such as the black panter party member distrbruting free breakfast remind us of the enduring legacy of mutual aid, which has resurged on a national scale following the pandemicâs wake.
XThis mural was done in 1977 by the late artist Raymundo (Zalas) Nevel. The original mural depicted scenes of the Chicano movement of the era and of the indigenous ancestors. The original mural got old and faded over the years. Zalas Nevel's daughter Xochitl Nevel Guerrero was asked to make a new mural in the late 90's. A new mural was made and is still there.

XCommunity Foods Market, opened in 2019 to improve food access in West Oakland, closed in February 2022 due to underinvestment and pandemic revenue declines. Community Vision now manages the space and is collaborating with local leaders to maintain its role in supporting food security. The Community Foods Mural honors Mary Ann Wright, known as Mother Wright, who fed East Bay residents starting in 1983, and the Black Panther Partyâs Free Breakfast Program, launched in Oakland in 1969 to provide nutritious meals to marginalized children.
